First steps
Getting started
1. What do we need to get started with a PoC?
We need basic portfolio data: project names, timelines, owners, and rough effort estimates. You don’t need perfect data or complete historical actuals. A representative sample of 10-30 projects is enough to demonstrate value in 3-5 weeks.
2. How long does it take to see value?
Most organizations see immediate value from the first scenario modeling session. Measurable impact — faster planning cycles, better decisions — typically emerges within 2-3 weeks of active use. The PoC typically runs 3-5 weeks depending on your pace preference.
3. Can we start without a full IT team?
Yes. Our PoC model works with 1-2 business users. We handle data import, technical setup, and platform configuration. Your team focuses on business scenarios. For the SaaS version, zero IT infrastructure required.
4. Do we need to replace our current PPM tool?
No. aangine complements your existing tools. Whether you use Jira, Azure DevOps, Broadcom Clarity, or any other tool, aangine reads from it and writes optimized plans back. Your execution system stays. We add the planning layer it’s missing.
5. What makes aangine different from other portfolio tools?
Most PPM tools focus on execution tracking. aangine laser-focuses on strategic planning. We don’t try to replace Jira or your ERP. We solve the specific problem those tools don’t: transforming planning from opinion-driven meetings to evidence-based decisions. Scenario modeling, AI-driven insights, and continuous planning are our core.
6. Is training required?
Minimal. Our UI is intuitive. Most users are productive in their first day. We provide 2-3 training sessions during your PoC and ongoing support. Power users can deepen expertise with advanced features over time.
7. Can we upgrade from PoC to production?
Absolutely. We design the PoC as a stepping stone to production. Your data, configurations, and scenarios transition directly. No rework. No starting over. The integration work you defer during the PoC is planned in Phase 5 and implemented after it.
8. What about change management?
We guide change management as part of our engagement. Getting stakeholder buy-in is critical. We help you run effective demos, communicate impact, and build internal advocacy. Most organizations see natural adoption once leadership experiences the value in real meetings.
Connecting your tools
Integration & data
1. How does data flow between aangine and our tools?
Three options: (1) Manual exports for PoC, (2) scheduled automated sync, (3) API-native for real-time bi-directional sync. You choose based on maturity. Start simple with CSV export, upgrade to API as you scale.
2. Which tools do you support?
With our flexible plug-in architecture, we can integrate with virtually any platform. We have built-in integration plug-ins for 10+ platforms including: Jira, Jira Align, Azure DevOps, Rally, Broadcom Clarity, ServiceNow SPM, Oracle Primavera P6, Planview, Microsoft Project / EPM, Microsoft Planner, OpenText PPM, OnePlan, Tempo, SAP, Workday, and more. If your tool isn’t listed, our plug-in architecture makes custom integrations straightforward.
3. How often is data synced?
Depends on your integration tier. Manual exports: whenever you want. Scheduled sync: nightly or weekly. API-native: real-time or near-real-time. During a PoC, manual exports are usually enough. Production implementations often upgrade to real-time.
4. Will integrating break our existing workflows?
No. aangine reads from your tools and writes optimized plans back. Your existing workflows continue unchanged. Teams can use both systems in parallel throughout the transition.
5. What data quality is needed?
Start with whatever data you have. Estimates are better than nothing. Rough timelines work. Missing actuals? Start without them. You improve data quality continuously as planning reveals what’s important. We believe data quality is an outcome of planning, not a prerequisite.
6. Can we update plans in aangine and have them sync back?
Yes. With API-native integration, optimized plans written in aangine automatically sync back to your PPM tool. Teams see updated priorities, timelines, and resource allocations in their system of record.
7. How secure is the data exchange?
Enterprise-grade. TLS 1.2+ encryption. OAuth 2.0/SAML 2.0 SSO. Credentials stored in secure vaults. Audit logging for all data access. SOC 2 Type 2 certified. We treat your data with the same security rigor as your PPM tool.
8. Can we use aangine with Excel data only?
Yes. Many organizations start with Excel exports. This is ideal for PoC. You export from your PPM tool to CSV, import into aangine, run scenarios. If you decide to move forward, we set up proper API integration later.
1. Do we have to use your SaaS? Can we run on-premises?
Both. SaaS is fastest to value. On-premises is available for compliance and data governance requirements. We also support private cloud on AWS/Azure/GCP. Choose based on your risk tolerance and architecture requirements.
2. What are the infrastructure requirements for on-premises?
Minimal. We support Docker and Kubernetes. You can run on your existing K8s cluster. No special hardware. We provide Helm charts for easy deployment. Most organizations deploy in their existing infrastructure without issues.
3. Is aangine SOC 2 certified?
aangine is SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certified. We also support GDPR, HIPAA, and other compliance frameworks as needed. Visit our Trust Center for the latest certification status and documentation.
4. Can we use SSO?
Yes. We support SAML 2.0 and OAuth 2.0. Connect to Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or another identity provider. Teams authenticate through your existing system. No separate password management.
5. How do you handle data backups?
SaaS: Automated daily backups, with recovery targets of RPO < 1 hour and RTO < 4 hours. On-premises: You control backup strategy. We provide recommendations and monitoring.
6. What’s your SLA?
Our SaaS service level target is 99.5% uptime, with 24/7 monitoring and a target incident response time of under 1 hour. Critical issues escalated immediately. On-premises availability depends on your infrastructure.
7. Is penetration testing allowed?
Yes. We encourage third-party security assessments. Let us know in advance so we can coordinate with our ops team. We conduct regular pen tests ourselves and share results upon request.
8. Where is data stored?

9. Can we get aangine’s security certificates and reports?
Yes. You can access all appropriate certifications, compliance documentation, and security information from our Trust Center. This includes our SOC 2 reports, penetration test summaries, and other security documentation available upon request.

1. Can aangine manage Agile AND Waterfall projects together?
Yes. We harmonize Agile sprints, Waterfall phases, and Hybrid methodologies in one portfolio view. Dependencies, timelines, and resources flow across all methodologies.
2. How does the AI work?
aangine’s algorithms do the optimization in the core platform: scheduling, resource allocation, constraint solving and prioritization recommendations. Our AI Portfolio Analyst, available as an optional add-on, brings generative AI for natural-language interaction: ask questions about your portfolio in plain English, get analysis of scenarios, and surface anomalies. The AI draws on the rich context that only intelligent planning can provide — your projects, resources, dependencies, and strategic goals. Built with privacy-by-design and human-in-the-loop, every recommendation is transparent and explainable.
3. Can we customize reports?
Yes. aangine provides multiple portfolio views and visualizations out of the box — roadmaps, Kanban boards, heatmaps, and multi-dimensional charts. Filter by any dimension: team, program, value stream, OKR, or custom fields. Schedule automated reports and export to Excel or PDF. For advanced needs, aangine’s underlying data is accessible via API, so you can connect your BI tools or build custom dashboards on top of the platform’s data.
4. Does aangine support OKRs?
Yes. Define OKRs per business unit or strategic theme. Map portfolio items to OKRs. Track progress and impact. See which OKRs are at risk. Prioritize based on OKR alignment and potential impact.
5. How do scenarios work?
Create multiple versions of your portfolio: baseline, aggressive, conservative, or any custom scenario. Change project priority, timing, or resources and see the full cascade effect. Compare outcomes side-by-side across OKRs, budget, timelines, and resource utilization. Our AI Portfolio Analyst can also analyze and query scenarios in natural language — helping you catch what the human eye might miss, get a second opinion on trade-offs, and surface hidden risks or opportunities across your portfolio.
6. Can we model resource constraints?
Yes. Define team capacity per role, skill, or individual. Model skill-based allocation. Handle shared resources across teams. See utilization heatmaps. Identify bottlenecks. Get recommendations for rebalancing or hiring.
7. Does aangine track dependencies?
Yes. Map dependencies across projects. See cascade effects when one project slips. Identify critical paths and bottlenecks. Get alerts when dependent projects misalign. Auto-adjust timelines to respect dependencies.
8. Can we support SAFe at scale?
Yes. aangine supports the SAFe framework across the Essential, Large Solution, Portfolio and Full SAFe configurations. Manage Epics, Features, and Capabilities across Agile Release Trains (ARTs). Track Planning Intervals (PIs), visualize dependencies, and plan at scale with hundreds of teams.

1. How is aangine priced?
Usage-based pricing: you pay for portfolio size (number of projects) and users. SaaS and on-premises deployment options available. The AI Portfolio Analyst is available as an optional add-on, priced separately. Volume discounts are available for larger deployments. Contact our team for a custom quote based on your requirements. 2. What’s included in the contract?
Platform access, data storage, integrations, support, and updates. Standard SLAs included. Your contract reflects your chosen deployment model — SaaS, private cloud, or on-premises — with pricing and terms tailored accordingly. Typical contract is 1-3 years with month-to-month flex for the first 90 days if desired.
3. Do you offer implementation services?
Yes. We start with a Proof of Concept (typically 3-5 weeks) to demonstrate value with your real data. After the PoC, we support full implementation including data migration, integration configuration, training, and change management. Beyond our core team, we have a well-established network of partners around the globe — from global system integrators to boutique transformation consultancies and PPM/SPM implementation experts — who can support your deployment at any scale.
4. What about support and SLA?
24/7 monitoring. Target response times: P1 within 1 hour, P2 within 4 hours, P3 by the next business day. Knowledge base, video training, and regular webinars. Dedicated success manager for enterprise customers.
5. Are there partner programs?

6. Can we scale from 1 team to 100 teams?
Yes. Start small with a pilot. Expand gradually. Our platform scales from 10 projects to 10,000 projects without rework. Add users, teams, and complexity as needed.
